Photographics Rotation 4/10/21*8/10/21

My initial idea for this composition was to use a singular cat instead of a pair, but as I was about to add the aforementioned singular cat image I realised that it would be much more visually interesting to add the pair, especially while masking. I ‘cut out’ the two cats via the masking tool by using the lasso to trace to their shape and refining it with the masking brush whilst zoomed in. The background is a splice of two images, one of a street and the other of a city skyline. There is a mulitply layer to make the composition darker and a screen layer was used for the white sillouette, which allowed it to glow. I am happy with the outcome but I feel as if it would have looked much better in colour, as with the black and white, it’s hard to tell that the background image is made of two photographs layered on top of eachother.
